         ●No folder appears: When you try to read the SD card through a system, no folder appears, or the folders do not open and show error messages 'Read / Write error on SD card' that indicates it cannot read from the device.

         ●Write protected: You can see the contents of your SD card in your camera as well as in your system, but unable to copy these contents and get an error message that disk is ‘write-protected.’
         ●SD card is not formatted: Your SD card is recognized by your PC, but you are unable to see any stored photo or video. It shows the message 'SD card is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?'
         ●SD card is not accessible: You are unable to add, delete, copy or save anything in your SD card. And you get a message on your phone that you cannot save files on your SD card

How to fix SD card?


Fix 1: Connect SD card to another device


At times, some of the devices may not read an SD card or they are incompatible to that SD card. In such cases, try to connect your SD card to another device.
 

Fix 2: Repair corrupt SD card using Command Prompt


      1. Connect the corrupted SD card to your computer
      2. go to “My Computer/This PC.”
      3. under “Devices and drives” section, locate the SD card and note its drive letter.
      4. Now run Command Prompt and type “chkdsk h: /r”, where “h” is the drive’s letter.
 
 
The chkdsk command scan damaged SD card and checks for the issues and repairs the corrupt micro SD card. After the completion of scanning process, connect the memory card to see if the “SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it” issue has been resolved or not.
 

Fix 3: Assign a new drive letter

 
Connect your SD card to a card reader to the system, if your system does not assign a new drive letter to it, then it means you cannot access it. In some cases, the reader might be assigned a drive letter, but still, you get the message "Please insert the disk into drive E:" indicates that the SD card is unreadable. To solve this problem, you should assign a new drive letter to this connected Card through your operating system settings.
 


Fix 4: Disable the SD card


After connecting the corrupt memory card to your computer

     1. Go to “Device Manager”
     2. Right-click on the SD card and select “Disable.”
     3. Wait for a few minutes and then click “Enable.”

For the changes to take effect, you may have to restart your computer
 

Fix 5: Reinstall the driver

 
You can try to reinstall the driver. To do so follow these steps:
 
      1. Go to and right click on My Computer/ This PC. Click on the option Manage.
      2. Click on Device Manager Option on the left side.
      3. Double-Click Disk Drives option from the list. Then Right Click on the name of your removable drive.
      4. Click on Uninstall and click on Ok.
      5. Disconnect your storage media and restart your PC.
      6. Reconnect your SD card again. Your PC will detect it.
 

Fix 6: Format SD card

 
If you can read all the files but cannot save them, then your card might be in write protected mode. Unlock the write-protection switch to save or modify files on the card.
 
If still, you are unable to read or write to the card, then possibly your files are lost or have become inaccessible. Step 1. Select the SD card
